Meeting of the AKI SR delegation with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Interior of the SR
In recent days, State Secretary of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic Patrik Krauspe received a delegation of the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic (AKI SR), which was led by AKI SR President Tibor Straka. The goal of the working meeting was to officially present the association as a professional and independent platform connecting state and private entities in the field of critical infrastructure and to discuss cooperation opportunities between the Ministry of Interior of the SR and AKI SR.
The Ministry of Interior of the SR was also represented at the meeting by Ervín Erdélyi, Director General of the Crisis Management Section, and Juraj Repiský, Director of the International Cooperation Department. On the AKI SR side, all members of the presidium and supervisory board participated in the meeting together with the executive director.
Meeting participants discussed the creation of an expert framework for effective communication between state bodies, public administration and the professional community. The common goal is to increase the resilience of critical infrastructure and contribute to prevention against current and future threats.
The topic also resonated in connection with Act No. 367/2024 Coll. on critical infrastructure and on amendments and additions to certain acts, which came into effect on January 1, 2025. Slovakia ranked among the first EU member states to implement new European rules in this area.
President Tibor Straka, in presenting AKI SR, emphasized the importance of professional connection and exchange of experience across critical infrastructure sectors. He stated that AKI SR has the ambition to be a communication and expert bridge between the public and private sectors.
State Secretary Patrik Krauspe appreciated the establishment of such a platform and welcomed the proposal for cooperation. He highlighted the importance of critical infrastructure as a fundamental pillar of state security and expressed support for professional dialogue with AKI SR.
President Tibor Straka appreciated the ministry's responsible approach to the topic of critical infrastructure resilience and expressed his conviction that the emerging cooperation will contribute to the exchange of information, expert opinions and experiences that are necessary for strengthening the overall security architecture of the Slovak Republic.
At the end of the meeting, both parties declared interest in concluding a memorandum of cooperation, which will provide a stable framework for long-term and systematic communication and coordination of cooperation between the Ministry of Interior of the SR and AKI SR.
