Meeting of AKI Representatives with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic
A working meeting between representatives of the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Szabolcs Hodosy, took place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the premises of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
The AKI delegation consisted of Supervisory Board Chairman Matej Michalko, Vice President Michal Boďo, and Executive Director Stella Bulejková. From the Ministry of Economy, besides the State Secretary, Tibor Compál from the Security and Crisis Management Department was present at the meeting.
The aim of the meeting was to establish systematic cooperation in the area of increasing critical infrastructure resilience and ensuring essential services.
The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic is, according to Act No. 367/2024 Coll. on Critical Infrastructure and on Amendment and Supplementation of Certain Acts, the central state administration body for the Energy and Industry sectors and for ensuring 26 essential services that are key to maintaining vital social functions and economic activities in the Slovak Republic.
The discussion took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and interest in cooperation. AKI Supervisory Board Chairman Matej Michalko informed State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Szabolcs Hodosy about AKI's scope of activities, particularly in the area of consultations with critical entities, in the area of threat, hazard and vulnerability analyses, and in the area of audits of the existing state of essential service provision and ensuring resilience of critical entities, as well as the development of implementation projects for implementing measures to ensure the provision of essential services and resilience of critical entities. He also emphasized the importance of systematic cooperation between the public and private sectors in the field of critical infrastructure.
State Secretary Hodosy welcomed the proposal to establish cooperative relations between the Ministry of Economy and AKI. During the discussion, both parties agreed on the importance of continuous exchange of experience, expert consultations, and support for joint initiatives that will contribute to increasing critical infrastructure resilience and ensuring the provision of essential services in the Slovak Republic. The next step will be the formal anchoring of mutual cooperation through a Memorandum of Cooperation, which both parties intend to conclude in the near future. We believe that this cooperation will create a solid foundation for long-term systematic and effective solutions in the field of critical infrastructure in our country.
