Meeting of AKI Representatives with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic
On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, a working meeting took place at the premises of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic between representatives of the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic, Igor Choma.
The main topic of the meeting was to discuss possibilities for mutual cooperation in the field of critical infrastructure in connection with Act No. 367/2024 Coll. on Critical Infrastructure and on Amendment and Supplementation of Certain Acts. The Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic is, according to the aforementioned act, the central state administration body for the Transport, Postal Services and Digital Infrastructure sectors and for ensuring 20 essential services that are of fundamental importance for maintaining vital social functions and economic activities in our country.
The AKI delegation was led by President Tibor Straka, who presented the association and its main functions to the ministry of transport representatives in the area of consultations with critical entities, in the area of threat, hazard and vulnerability analyses, and in the area of audits of the existing state of essential service provision and ensuring resilience of critical entities, as well as the development of implementation projects for implementing measures to ensure the provision of essential services and resilience of critical entities.
He emphasized that AKI is an interest association of legal entities, financed exclusively from contributions of its members and operates as an independent and non-political professional platform for systematic cooperation between the public and private sectors in the field of critical infrastructure. He informed that AKI members are critical entities, as well as entities from the state and private spheres and from the academic community that provide professional analyses and audits to critical entities, as well as entities from the business environment that, based on such analyses and audits, develop and implement projects to eliminate deficiencies and increase critical infrastructure resilience.
During the discussion, the AKI president expressed his conviction that thanks to existing domestic professional capacities and effective interconnection of the public and private sectors, we can ensure the resilience of critical infrastructure in our country through our own means while maintaining certain circumstances.
Both parties agreed on the interest to continue the dialogue focused on establishing meaningful cooperation that will bring sustainable solutions. In this context, AKI will submit to State Secretary Igor Choma a draft text of a Memorandum of Cooperation, which will define the basic framework for future cooperation between the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic and the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic.
