The Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic and the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic signed a memorandum of cooperation

7. októbra 2025

On the 6th of October 2025, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic Patrik Krauspe and President of the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic Tibor Straka signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic and the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic.

This step opens a new stage of long-term intensive cooperation between the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic.

Why is the conclusion of the memorandum important?

The established partnership creates space for cooperation between both parties in ensuring the resilience of critical entities with a focus on providing essential services in accordance with the Critical Infrastructure Act, which came into force at the beginning of this year. The association's cooperation with the ministry is particularly significant also because the Ministry of Interior of the SR is the guarantor of the aforementioned law and fulfills a whole range of tasks in relation to central state administration bodies and critical entities.

The partnership with the ministry of interior opens up opportunities for existing and future members of the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic for direct cooperation with the state: they will gain rapid access to current information, consultations, expert knowledge and decision-making processes in the field of critical infrastructure. The memorandum will simultaneously enable members to actively participate in the creation of legislative amendments. By joining the association, they can thus become a voice that communicates the real needs and challenges of critical infrastructure and advocates for the adoption of measures to improve the functioning of critical infrastructure.

Membership in the Critical Infrastructure Association of the SR is not intended only for the critical entities themselves, but members can also be other entities from the state and private sectors and from the academic community, providing expert analyses and resilience audits as well as business entities that develop and implement projects to eliminate deficiencies and increase the resilience of critical infrastructure.

The conclusion of the memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Interior of the SR and the Critical Infrastructure Association of the SR is another signal that membership in the association brings strategic advantages – from a stronger position in representing interests to access to solutions. The Critical Infrastructure Association of the SR recently concluded a memorandum of cooperation also with the National Security Authority and memoranda with other ministries that exercise state administration in the field of critical infrastructure are currently being finalized.

The Critical Infrastructure Association of the SR will continue to defend the interests of its members across all sectors, support their sustainable development and in cooperation with the state and the banking sector seek possibilities for financing the costs of ensuring the resilience of critical infrastructure, for example from European funds and in the form of preferential loans.

The Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic is an interest association of legal entities that brings together key actors in the public and private sector in the field of critical infrastructure. It is a professional, independent and non-political organization and its activities are financed only from membership fees of its members. The mission of the association is to promote the interests of its members in creating optimal conditions for ensuring essential services and increasing the resilience of critical entities.
