SOPK and AKI SR signed a memorandum of cooperation
Yesterday, December 16, 2025, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SOPK) and the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic (AKI SR). The memorandum was signed by Peter Mihók, President of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tibor Straka, President of the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic.

The aim of the memorandum is to create a framework for long-term cooperation focused on protecting the business interests of members of both organizations, supporting a stable and predictable business environment and strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure in Slovakia.
The contracting parties declared interest in cooperating in the area of expert opinions, legislative proposals on issues of protection and resilience of critical infrastructure and in increasing the level of cybersecurity of their members. Part of the cooperation will also be the exchange of information and sharing of knowledge about eliminating risks that may threaten the continuity of providing essential services and the functioning of critical entities and their subcontractors.
"Our ambition is to contribute to creating a business environment that will enable increasing the resilience of critical entities based on the analysis of dangers, threats and vulnerabilities, with the aim of ensuring the provision of all essential services even in crisis situations," stated Tibor Straka, President of AKI SR.
President of SOPK Peter Mihók emphasized in this context the importance of cooperation between the business sector and professional organizations: "The Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry perceives the signing of the memorandum as an important step towards strengthening dialogue between the business environment and the professional platform operating in the field of critical infrastructure. Our common goal is to create a predictable, competitive and secure business environment that will take into account the needs of individual entities and at the same time support the stability and resilience of the economy of the Slovak Republic."
In connection with information that appeared in the media in the context of the call from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the SR for the Recovery Plan and Knowledge Economy, focused on industrial research and experimental development in the field of robotics and automation, AKI SR emphasizes that it approaches this topic exclusively professionally and factually.
"AKI SR did not react in political categories or in the language of public emotions, because AKI SR is an apolitical interest association of legal entities. For this reason, we request that our activities be assessed in accordance with the law, independently and impartially," added Tibor Straka.
The signing of the memorandum represents a significant step towards systematic cooperation between SOPK and AKI SR. It creates preconditions not only for increasing the level of security and resilience of critical infrastructure, but also for the growth of competitiveness of Slovak business entities.
