Representatives of the Critical Infrastructure Association of the Slovak Republic (AKI SR) discussed on December 16, 2025 with the management of EXIMBANKA SR about possibilities of cooperation in the area of supporting strategic critical infrastructure projects.

President of AKI SR Tibor Straka presented at the meeting the mission, goals and vision of the association, which brings together key actors operating in the field of critical infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of systematically increasing the resilience of critical infrastructure, which is one of the fundamental pillars of security, stability and competitiveness of the Slovak Republic, especially in the context of dynamically changing security and technological challenges.

"Our ambition is to connect expert know-how, the public sector and financial institutions. We perceive cooperation with EXIMBANKA SR as an important step towards supporting strategic projects of our members that have the potential to succeed abroad," stated President of AKI SR Tibor Straka.

For EXIMBANKA SR, the meeting was attended by Chairman of the Bank's Board and Director General Rastislav Podhorec together with members of the Bank's Board Milan Horváth and Igor Barát. The discussion was held in a constructive spirit and focused on identifying specific areas of cooperation between EXIMBANKA SR, AKI SR and its members, including possibilities of using financial instruments to support promising projects with high strategic value.

The meeting confirmed the common interest of both parties to support initiatives that contribute to strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure, introducing innovative solutions and developing the competitiveness of Slovak exporters. The connection of the association's expert capacities with the financial instruments of EXIMBANKA SR creates preconditions for the implementation of projects that can have a long-term positive impact not only on the economy of our country, but also on its security. AKI SR perceives this meeting as an important step towards building strong strategic partnerships and declares readiness to actively participate in further development of cooperation for the benefit of its members.

District heating and cooling are an important part of the energy infrastructure of cities and municipalities. Their role is not limited to providing thermal comfort; they create stable conditions for the functioning of households, public institutions, industry and other facilities. As energy systems become increasingly technologically complex, the importance of their reliability, preparedness and ability to respond to operational disruptions is also growing.

Diaľkové vykurovanie a chladenie predstavujú významnú súčasť energetickej infraštruktúry miest a obcí.
